Marilyn that must be absolutely beautiful!! My first
helliborus orientalis (It's the picture on the Yahoo
page for the Hardy Plant list) was bought in 1989 at
the first HPSO plant sale I attended. It was in a 4"
pot then and now it is about 1 foot by 18" and filled
with beautiful blooms from Feb thru August when the
flowers start to look sorta ratty. I have been
pollenating it from the white H. orientalis bought
about 1999 to see what I come up with seed wise-just
for fun.
Do you save your seeds? How do you 'catch' them? I
had heard of using bags or nylons to cover the flowers
when it looks like seeds are going to be dropped but
didn't get to it in time last year.
See you this weekend gal!
