I am cutting them down, and laying them down along the fence line
horizontally (Looks more attractive.)
The thorns are only bad on the small trees. There are some out in the woods
that have 12 inch circumferences. It's a nuisance species here in Minnesota.
In the fall I am also trimming up trees, and all the branches go on the
fence, it's a high maintenance way to go-because the wood likes to decay
after a few years and the fence needs new material every spring and fall.
Deer and woodchucks are the two animals I hate to see in the woods. They
have done some much environmental damage around here. I would say that they
have eliminated least 5 plants species from our park, including Showy Orchis,
an attractive orchid species.
I know some people complain about invasive species, but from what I have
seen, the deer have done more damage than the invasives.
