Re: wild turkeys was: deer


Well, Paul, watch out for those birds.  Had one visit last year
(first I've ever seen).  Was thrilled until I went out to where it
had been stalking around and found it had decimated a couple stands
of wild Arisaema triphyllum.  Boy do those birds have strong claws! 
Think it was after the tubers, but the ground was so dry and rock
hard, all it did was tear up the above ground foliage.  Have to say I
hope it does not return!   The damage it could do in soft soil is not
to be contemplated!

We had summer on Wed. (90F), yesterday was low 50's and windy; today
rain and 40s...but you win (?) with the 30s for highs...UGH!  Hope
that does not happen here as buds are burstin'.
