Barb: Does that mean that hunters who eat the meat of the deers in your area could get the disease, too??? If so, that could be a law suit just a waiting to happen. Haven't heard of this disease around here, but I don't subscribe to a paper any longer.

The scientists are saying that they don't believe the disease is not transmissible to humans, but I'm not sure I'd willingly eat venison from an infected area. I believe Wisconsin is the farthest east the disease has been detected and is pretty much confined to the Western states.
