Crocus and snowdrops are just beginning to bloom in my garden here
outside of Montreal. Tulips and hyacinths poking up about three-quarters
of an inch, allium leaves are up and out. Our greatest task now will be to
clean up our yard and trees since the awful ice storm. On average,
each neighbor has a pile of tree debris at least 10 feet wide by 5 feet tall
by the street for the city to pick up. So sad, but we've been reassured
by many experts now that most trees will recover well, with just a
minimum amount of pruning. My perennials and shrubs survived the
storm just fine.
