Hi Carolann, I have been told that boiling water will in fact kill weeds.
But that it takes more than one application. the theory being that the
water kills the top growth and as it grows back a second application kills
that and finally it gives up the ghost.

I read that pouring boiling water or half a can of soda
on weeds in the garden will kill them. I was wondering
if anyone has ever tried this, and if it works. Does it kill
on contact or does it travel to the roots and kill the whole
plant? I have a case of quack grass that you wouldn't
believe. Even commercial weed killers won't kill it. It
just pops up in the spot next to it.
