Hi Vicki and all,
I've got Lavender Lady, Coleus, Marigold, Purple Coneflower and Aster coming
up nicely under fluorescent lights - my first try at growing any of the
above other than Marigolds. I'm also growing a variety of vegetables and
herbs for the first time... I guess I got bit hard by the gardening bug :-)
Anyway, thanks to the daffodils, tulips, and some other flowers I can't
identify yet, there's a bright assortment of colors along the yard
boundaries and the front of the house (compliments of the previous owners.)
Any suggestions as to something very fast-growing that I could start outside
from seed today? I have a pretty even balance of shade, partial-shade and
sun areas.
Yep, it's lots of fun... but are my muscles ever sore from digging out and
pounding on fence posts yesterday (!) Thanks again to all who replied to
the CCA cedar question... it's just a couple of panels and fenceposts that
one of my neighbors gave me as he's redoing that area in his yard. I've
decided to use them by the patio for a privacy screen on one side, will keep
them away from growing things other than grass.
