<< Hi, Ann --
Don't remember where I've been reading about RR ties & treated landscape
timbers but there has been a lot of negative comments about using them in &
around vegetable gardens. They say the chemicals leach into the soil & then
into our food. Their comments about this are very strong suggesting that
such
use should be illegal!!

this is just conjecture- there is no evidence that these compounds are taken
up by plants. But if you want to be completely safe use plastic borders.
Should they be outlawed? I find this just to be fear mongering.
We should outlaw charcoal too then- it causes cancer.
If you barbecue- you expose your self to more danger than if you use green
treated lumber.
