What a little rain can do.

Hi everyone,
I really can't believe what a little rain can do. The
week before Easter was sunny and warm (in the 70's
most days) and I thought "Oh boy..this will bring my
plants up.!! Except for the ones that had stayed green
all winter under the snow, nothing appeared. I
expected of multitudes of seedlings and was
disappointed to find zip, zilch, nothing!
Then over the weekend the temperature dropped back
into the upper 50's and it rained. Not a hard
rainlljust a steady soft drizzle that last for 21/2
days. When it finally ended I went out to check my
garden and ,lo and behold, plants that I thought were
dead, dead, dead were starting to sent up leaves and
look alive. I have to confess that I have several
that still look deader than dead (foxgloves, painted
daisies, one columbine, veronica and one that I can't
remember).
Last year I had two plants that I bought from the
dreaded Michigan Bulb Co (mea culpa, mea culpa) that
were supposed to be perennial geraniums but had
foliage looking nothing like geraniums. The foliage
flourished, but they never bloomed so to this date
they are still mystery plants. Anyway, they are both
flourishing. Maybe this year they will bloom and I'll
learn what they are.
