Figure your total square footage. ( length x width of area in feet)
For a 3 inch depth, divide total square footage by 108
For a 4 inch depth, divide total square footage by 81
For a 6 inch depth, divide total square footage by 54
For a 1 foot depth, divide total square footage by 27
Suggestions:
For establishing a new lawn, a 4inch base of screened 3 way mix topsoil will be ideal
For weed control 3 inches of bark is sufficient
The above calculations are not factored for compaction.
