Butterfly bush

This past summer was my first for butterfly bush.  I didn't cut it back in
the fall, and I'm not sure if I should cut it back now.  Do you cut back
butterfly bush in general, or just leave it.  I've made that dumb mistake
with too many things I've grown, and didn't check first before I cut it back.
