Hello Don,
This one gets discussed quite often on several mailing lists. Just
recently on Alpine-L. you may want to check the archives there for
background from the "experts".
personally, if anyone is having consistent success this any c. flexulosa I
would like to hear about it. I have tried several named selections in
different locations in the garden and not luck thus far after 5 years
trying. The one I left in a nursery pot in the cold frame this winter is
emerging now. These things grow better in nursery medium and pots than in
"real" life.
It is my understanding these things originated in china, was smuggled out.
The environment they came from was moist, almost wet, during growth and dry
in wither. So far the knowledge has not helped me.
Anyone else?
