I wouldn't be without my favourite culinary herb--rosemary. It's no where
near hardy here (zone 8 vs. zone 3) but I take 2 cuttings every August for
the next season.
I always grow one of the cuttings in a large pot on the deck. It quickly
grows into a small shrub even though we are constantly taking cuttings for
cooking. My husband also likes to throw fresh rosemary on the BBQ to give
food an interesting smoked flavour.
It adds structure to my container garden, has beautiful dark green foliage,
and smells wonderful when you brush up against it.
