scabiosa and coreopsis Moonbeam

Hi all-
Can someone give me a comparison of the watering needs of scabiosa and
coreopsis Moonbeam?
They're planted together and for the second year, the scabiosa all made
it and I've lost most of the Moonbeam (4 of 6). Does the Moonbeam
require more water, and maybe that's why it doesn't do well? It has
never looked good (except for right after planting it!) Will a different
coreopsis do better?
