Janis,

how do you keep the foliage from getting so ratty looking in mid-summer on
your daylilies?  The only way I've found is to cut them back to about 6"
and letting them regrow.  The plants will be shorter, but at least you'll
have lush green foliage for the rest of the season.

I have this problem every year!  Even those common hardy-as-steel orange
daylilies succumb to this, and the hybrids (like 'Stella') get even worse
for me.
