I have both varieties water and regular cannas. I treat them the same as a
marginal plant in my pond. I personally think the garden variety do not get as
tall or full in the pond.(You are restricting the root / tuber system in the
pot) You also have to watch the water temp and be sure to pull them out before
it gets to cold, as you are loosing some ground warmth.
