If you are patient and have plenty of room you can approximate Goldsturm 
from seed.  If you start a fair number of plants some of them (so far about 
15%) will closely approximate Goldsturm.  Then you discard any plants that 
don't measure up. Frankly, unless I needed an awful lot of Goldsturms I'd 
just buy them. To cover large areas the seed grown Rudbeckias are good 
enough, though.
By the way, the only reason I know is that I let my plants go to seed and I 
get literally hundreds of seedlings.
