I am developing a 1/2 acre memorial garden honoring victims and
survivors of a specific type of trauma. We encourage visitors to
interact by both touch and smell.
Yesterday I was threading a Tangerine Beauty Crossvine vine through an
arbor. Something on the leaves and/or vine got on my fingers on both
hands. It caused burning pain equivalent to someone smearing sulfuric
acid on my fingers. Five minutes of cold running water (while I cried)
and cortizone ointment finally stopped the pain.
I simply cannot have this in our garden if a chemical from the plant
caused it. Has anyone else run into this problem? It is the ONLY vine
on our three arbors that has flourished so quickly, which is ironic.
