To paraphrase the recent conversation about goldenrod, "you are going out of
your way to root MONARDA?!?!?" Have you been out in the sun too long? ;-)
You can have all you want of mine. By 5 PM tonight, it will have grown
back...
IMHExperience, monarda wouldn't need to worry about rooting from a stem
cutting because it spreads SO quickly by stolons. If only it didn't leave
such a big black ugly hole when the mildew hits it...
Fantasy bed (USDA Zone 7B): Lantana Miss Huff. Salvia Guaranitica.
Monarda (any). Maybe some of the common daylilies? Goldenrod. Wonder what
I'd have standing in two years? Oh yeah--helianthus augustifolia, too.
What do I mean, "fantasy bed?" That's all I DO have standing after I let
those wild boys loose!
