Re: goldenrod and other natives


Claire-as far as I know neither the verbascum (I assume thapsis since that 
is the one we have here) nor the yarrow that you mention are native species. 
The seed may have come in mixed with seed grain from Europe or they may have 
escaped. The verbascum I know was used as a torch material,and may have had 
medicinal useage. Yarrow definitely was used medicinally.
