Hello Chris,
Very hot and very humid here as well. High 90's for day time temps. Have
not seen a good soaking rain in I can not remember when. When I dig it is
dry down to the full depth of the shovel. Watering like crazy and have been
for two full months now.
Having said that... now is the only time I have to do my renovations,
create new beds and bring new plants to the garden. Come September I will be
back into fall shipping and no time to play. Thus far, by paying close
attention to what I am doing, I have not lost anything planted new to the
garden. The weather has not slowed me down on purchases at other nurseries,
nor seemed to keep anyone from stopping by here or placing orders.
First of the fall blooming anemone are in full bud here. Another week to
ten days and they will be fully opened. With the other cultivars in the
garden there will be an anemone in bloom from now until a real hard freeze.
They all seem to require lots of room, but goodness do they ever make a
show.
