I have helenium starting, echinacea, asters, and phlox. I guess they just don't excite me like roses and lilies!
What are the burnets?

Ah, the August let down.... I feel it too.
My cures....
1. Rudbeckia maxima is great - 7 feet tall, yellow flowers, huge cones
2. I have been collecting late season daylilies for ages so I still
have tons of color from those. I have some that will bloom into
October.
3. Sedums, the spectabile types, are just coming into season now.
4. Hostas
5. Blackberry Lily (don't know the Latin) is just starting to flower.
6. Burnets are starting too
Who's next, I'll always add more plants to the garden.
