That is a big change, especially if a two story. We are only kibitizing
around with the color thing, Susan, you can keep orange behind the barn if
you choose.
When you look into alpine gardening, there is no color considered with most
plants. Since nearly all of them die or try to, getting something to bloom
is such a success story that colors can live anywhere they might not die. It
brings a different perspective to the garden and you look at the plants
differently. For a long time I had a long border along the drive with only
blue, white and some pink/purple types. A whole bunch of California poppies
got in there one summer and now I plant in blocks.
I try to make combinations that look well together, blocks of space, but a
whole bed is not restricted anymore. The poppies get into everything so you
it is hopeless unles you police up the poppies all summer. I thought they
were white when I put them there. Paulmentioned the principle of your garden
pleasing you and I agree with him.
