The degree sign is found in the character map in Windows.
Depending on the program, one can drag and drop it into a composition,
or use Unicode characters to insert it (start, Accessories, system
tools, character map).
My experience with the degree sign is that it shows up
binary in email, and a lot of servers strip binary characters out,
or just won't allow them to appear. If this server allows it, the
following will show up with a degree sign after it - 700
That's done (in Arial text) by holding down the Alt key
and typing 0176 on the key pad. (zero, one, seven, six)
