Re: watering and dealing with the heat


That's my take on it, too, Judy.  No matter how much I water, it does
not penetrate the ground like a decent - or even indecent - bit of
water from the sky.  Now, a couple of times, I've left a sprinkler on
all night by mistake and that does seem to make a bit of a
difference:-)  Cannot afford to do this on purpose, however.

Water does not seem to go sideways in the ground unless there's a
slope...or at least not much - depends, of course, on how loose the
soil is.  If it's very friable, water will spread out a bit more, but
it tends (in my unscientific observation) to go down (gravity) and
not sideways.
