Like most annuals, it is perennial (probably) in its native habitat, which I 
don't know the location of. That means in most of the U.S. it will freeze and 
die in the winter. But someone said they grow it in a pot year-round, 
bringing it indoors in winter--so it will definitely live more than one year 
(annual).  It is pretty. I grew it in unamended clay and it got to be about 2 
feet tall by the end of the summer. Give it good conditions and it may become 
a shrub in a season!
