So overall it sounds like some things handle late summer well. Everyone has given me some great ideas for combinations too!

My artemesia 'Powris Castle', anise hyssop 'Apricot Sunrise'. and sedum
'Vera Jameson' are thriving. VERA is blooming now--intense pink flowers. I
have 'Goldstrum' rudbeckia and 'Nicky' phlox behind the sedum and it is
looking good.
