    ... And I am going to try my next Crocosmia in open shade, rich soil in
raised bed, bit of a sheltered spot. We shall see. Be interesting ... you
will have yours in full sun in TN, mine in shade here in IN.... Perhaps the
damage caused by spider mites (I think that is what I am seeing during hot
dry summer weather) can be avoided with a touch of shade.
    Believe me, there are many perennials that I have not been good at, or
simply killed outright. Tried them when I first started gardening, blamed it
on inexperience and ignorance. Tried again a few year back and here recently
and finally had to admit there are some things I simply can not seem to
grow. I think, perhaps, that is true of just about all gardeners with the
exception of Marge Talt ;-))
