Re: August is a hard month


Veronicastrum virginicum "alba"  no pests, no disease, behaves,  4 - 5'
tall, it should be staked loosely to stand up under late summer rains. 
It will also provide you with material for dried arrangements.  10 star
plant in my garden.   I have to wait another year to find out for myself
how good Amsonia hubrichtii is -  4 - 5' thread leaf foliage, blue
blossoms in spring. yellow foliage in fall. I have been told it is
excellent.  It did not have any problems with it this  season and it did
not wilt when we had a mini-drought in July.   I put this plant in the
fall of '96.    I will wait patiently.   Huh......
