Re: Specimen plant idea needed
Sheila,
Hydrangea arborescens 'Annabelle'? Zones 3-9, 3-5 feet high, producing
big (8-12 in.) round heads of white blooms in July which last until
Sept., grows in partial shade and full sun, too, if moist enough. Mine
is planted on the north side of a deck and gets only 3-4 hours of sun;
it dies back to the ground in winter at which point I cut it back
completely. My only problem with it is that the flower heads are so
heavy that I have to grow it up through tomato cages to hold the flowers
erect.
