I always have incomplete notes, too, but I do see that it was in
bloom the second week of April, April 15 being our average last frost
date.

I bought my plants from Wayside but Park Seed has them now, too,
and of course they're less expensive from Park. I found my Park
catalog since I posted about this so I'll give you the lowdown. The
white one is 'Snowdrift' (too many cultivar names with "snow" in them
to keep them all straight!) and the catalog says the foliage is 12"
high and "one of the longest-blooming of all shade plants! Pretty
white flowers from late spring to frost!" About 'Luxuriant' it says,
"Five months of nonstop pink! From midspring to midfall, it produces
and abundant, nonstop display of cherry-pink blossoms" yada yada
yada. They claim it gets 18" tall but I thought I'd read elsewhere
it was a dwarf, as your experience bears out. Both cv's are $5.95
ea; 3 of one variety for $15.95; or 2 of each variety for $18.95.
'Snowdrift' has beautiful foliage and blooms through our hot summers,
which makes it a *great* perennial in my estimation. I expect
'Luxuriant' to be just as great.
