Ooops. Maybe I didn't explain this well enough-- my raised beds do NOT have
any type of wood supportive structure. They are simply 14" deep raised beds
of dirt, each bed being 4x5', with a grid of sunken pathways between the
beds. There is no wood involved. Which is why I am guessing the slugs
don't like climbing that expanse of dry, rough soil.
