Your bigest clue is the braided trunk. Hardy hibiscus are true perennials
in many areas and die back and return.
You have a tropical which requires temps of no less than 50degrees (F) at
night.
Check out the website for the American Hibiscus Society for overwinter tips.
Tropicals have much prettier foliage but are a lot of work.
The commercial varieties sold at Walmart are easier but not nearly as
beautiful.
They did get me started on my hib habit tho
