One of my favorite gardening books is "The Wise Garden Encyclopedia", it
was given me by my mother and she has been gone for several years. The one I
like the best is the one published in 1953, although I do have the updated
version too. It is a very knowledgeable book and has both Latin and common
names and culture.
Another one is, "The Natural Shade Garden", by Ken Druse. It is an excellent
reference.
