Re: A. konjac was World's Largest Flower


Ah, Don...man after my own heart!  Great photo of the bloom!  I picked up
one at a plant exchange a few years ago, simply because of the marvelous
foliage and mottled stem - had no idea what it was at the time.  Grew it in
the ground outdoors for three years - never bloomed and did not return this
spring...I think one of local rodent population found it and enjoyed a nice
meal as there was nothing there when I investigated - no rotted
bits...nothing:-(

Do believe I probably should have kept it in a pot instead...but neat plant
while it was with me.  It's easy to get hooked on Aroids, I think.  You
start out thinking, hmmm....odd, but they do grow on you and if you like
Arisaema to start with, you're half way there.
