Milkweeds ARE Asclepias. More precisely, most milkweeds are in the genus
Asclepias. Common Milkweed is Asclepias syriaca, Pruple Milkweed is A.
purpurascens, Swamp Milkweed is A. incarnata, and so forth. A few milkweeds
are in different genera, for instance Climbing Milkweed which is Matelea
decipiens. But all milkweeds are in the Asclepiadaceae (milkweed) family.

And, yes, Monarch's feed on Asclepias tuberosa, aka Butterfly Weed. The
larvae eat the leaves, and the adults feed on the nectar. Great plants. And
they are beautiful and easy to grow, too! --Janis
