Dear All
My heart goes out to all of you who are suffering from this excessive
drought. We've just had 3 weeks without rain and with (for us!) very high
temperatures(low 30's) and we were complaining!
However we've now had a week of unsettled weather (it knew there was an
eclipse happening, I swear) which has stopped the need for so much watering
but when I dig a hole it is still pretty dusty. Cornwall has one of the
highest rainfall in Britain but as my garden is 90% stone it quickly dries
out in summer. But all of this is as nothing compared with what we hear
about the drought over there. I'll try to remember this in mid November when
it hasn't stopped raining for a month.
I would love to be able to help out with plants for those of you who are
losing them hand over fist but that might not be too practical. But I don't
see why we couldn't help out with seeds, maybe, unless there are import
restrictions. Does anyone know?
You have all my sympathy, I know how hearting-breaking it is to lose one
plant, let alone a whole gardenful.
Wishing you lots of rain,
Tracy Wilson. Cornwall.
