The trick is not to spread small pieces of the roots around the garden, they
are large plants with attractive large leaves, but any small piece of root
will grow into a new plant as Claire has said.
Mine have not spread around but have stayed were they are planted-but they do
take up some space. I do fear the day I have to remove my row of plants in
the propagating bed... My guess is that that part of the bed will be horse
radish until I replace the soil. ( done every three or four years)
