Ceres, this is an interesting topic to those who are the buying end. It
seems that for a good many years nurseries had the habit of going on sale (in
our area) around the 4th of July. The nurseries now do not have sales. If
they would, most customers wait for the sale believing it must happen as
plants cannot be kept. Perennial nurseries do keep plants, they split them
the following year into more plants. If in a chain store that is a temporary
nursery, this is just my comment folks, the problem is handled by just
allowing the plants to die. It is not an easy business and it is hard work.
Specials are offered here and there but quality nurseries in our area do no
go on sale anymore.

Aha, you can have some of ours. We have had record snow in December and
nearly record other stuff in November. I do wish it was more evenly divided
all years so all gardeners could plan and grow and depend a bit more on
Mother Nature.
