Most places are now using the Royal Horticultural Society Index of
Garden Plants by Mark Griffiths as the canonical source for plant
nomenclature. Hortus III used to be _THE_ reference, but being 20+
years behind the times has put it behind this publication put out
by Timber Press.
'Sissinghurst White' is listed as a P. saccharata cultivar.
I too would be interested in finding out what references were used,
just for curiosity's sake.
Doing a mini-monograph like that takes time, and I really appreciate
the time and effort that went into it! Many thanks to the author
(Meum71@aol.com -- is that Paul Henjum?)
