Hi Val and other's interested in rose champion
I grow Lychnis (rose champion) and stachys (lambs ear) and snow in the
summer
all are grown in full sun and watered sparingly. I plant any
silver/gray/green plant on
a little mound as I find most of these plants like good drainage and dry
foliage.
Rose champion I treat as a biannual because every few years the mother
plant dies away, usually I find lots of self sown "babies" nearby. I
find these plants do not transplant well so when you move one to the
location you want, maybe you should move a friend also in case one
doesn't make it. I have found that most of these plants do not bloom the
first year.
I live in the Ohio River Valley of southern Indiana and we also have high
humidity in the summer, so I don't think that is your problem --most
likely too much watering,or rain.
