I live in zone 6, hot and humid in summer and my rose
campion grows quite well. In the hottest part of the summer, they tend to
look ratty, tatty, so I shear them back. They grow back and regain their
vigor when the weather cools a bit. I, too, find that they reseed
themselves readily and if you move them when they are quite young, they make the
transition just fine.
