Val-- It must be because you don't let the foliage yellow naturally,
because my tulips and alliums are old faithfuls. It might help if you
plant something with them that will grow up and hide the foliage as it
dies. Otherwise planting every year seems like so much trouble!
What do you think of the foxgloves, btw? How long do they bloom? Are
they well-behaved and is the foliage attractive when they're not in
bloom? Do they come back faithfully? I've been coveting them for a
while but the poison factor and my new daughter have kept me back.
