Reply: Poly vs Glass Barb

Hi Barb,

the research shows that double poly with an inflation blower is much more
effecient than glass.  In fact glass is always used as the base line for
zero.  Even a single layer of poly is better, because it difuses the
light better. the only current use of glass that I know of is for high
value crops like roses.  Poly is also safer and more cost effective.
A few years ago I even removed the metal roofing on an old pole barn and
covered it with double poly.

Waldo in Ohio is an excellent sourc of greenhouse materials and they have
excellent prices.
