Myrna, I grow and love Knautia. It looks like a small Scabiosa but is
bright scarlet. It blooms most of the summer for me. It can get rangy
looking as it keeps growing and keeps blooming on the new growth. But in
spite of that flaw it causes a lot of comment from visitors to my garden.
My frustration is that I have never been able to start the seeds myself, but
I find volunteers around the mother plant and they seem to bloom the first
year. No one has to teach Mother Nature how to do it right!
