Wondering if anyone here ever uses perennials with their annual container
plantings?
I have been giving thought to adding some for foliage in my larger
containers and using annuals for color. My thoughts run from -this will
never work- to maybe I should try it with some overstock/divisions of things
here.(although I would prefer something different instead of what is out
there already)
The other thought is will they survive a zone 5 winter here. Would I have to
use something rated for zone4 or? I have no intentions of taking them out
and 'ground' planting them for winter. Not enough time in the fall here for
that! Of course, the idea behind using perennials is not having to replace
all the plants yearly in the containers.....
So thoughts folks? Anyone doing this?
