Donna, I use perennials in containers all the time. As a greenhouse
container designer I have my designs on display to give customers ideas as well as to
sell the planted container. Many will copy the exact plants in containers
they have at home. It is very easy to recognize the popular ones as the plant
inventory is exhausted very quickly. A few plants that I love to use are Carex
'Evergold', Heuchera 'Regina', Hosta 'Halycon', Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea',
Lysimachia 'Oriental Limelight', Festucas, Sedums and Agastaches. I usually
place them in the garden at the end of the season except for my trough
plantings. I bring them in the garage in the trough. These include many woodies.
