what is a color??--the blazing stars come in a range of pinkish purple and
plain old white.
Some are lighter than others and some are darker purple.
L.scariosa is a reddish purple
L.spicata 'BLUE BIRD' is a blue-purple
L. aspera is a lavender purple
L.pycnostachya 'Alexander' is a dark purple.
with 40 species and many cultivars and seed raised strains there is going to
be some color varation- but white and pink and purple kinda cover it.
The shape of the flower heads make each species distinctive, some are tall and
clustered tihghtly together. Others have large heads with many flowers
clusterd togethyer every few inches.
great plants for cuting and butterflies and bees love them too.
