Amy,
Daylilies are sort of like hostas. They can both withstand a huge amount of
abuse/neglect. For example, I dug up a number of clumps of daylilies
several months ago because of a septic tank problem. My son helped and put
the daylilies somewhere. The other day I was out at my compost heap and
there on the pile were the daylilies! They had all begun to sprout.
I have had similar experiences with hostas. Dug them up, intending to
transplant them and for whatever reason, did not. Not to fear--they came
through the winter unscathed. And that was not a mild one like we are
having now.
Don't fret, Amy. They will be just fine!
