where to start

Hi Chris,

It faces the east, so it gets all morning sun, part of the flower bed
will get early afternoon sun. It is under an eave, so it will get light
rain, but I will mostly have to water it. I'm not really sure about the
soil, last summer when it was dry(we moved into the house in August) the
soil was very hard and took alot of work to loosen it up. But so far
this spring(it seems like spring anyway!) it is very wet and, but it
seems to be draining well. It is hard to tell, the snow just melted and
it has been raining steady. Our house is a white ranch with brown
shutters...blah. We plan on painting the shutters a blue this summer.
There is a small deck from the driveway to the front door. I planted
peonies (light pink the dark red) in front of the deck and it looks
like most of them have survived so far. I plan on planting morning
glories behind the peonies to climb over the deck railing. As far as
work involved, I wouldn't mind working on it once a week.

I think I answered all of your questions.

Michelle
